EVALUATION OF STUDENTS
Rules For Examination
The Office of the Controller of Examinations conducts all Semester Examinations. The evaluation of a student in a particular course is based on her performance in the (i) Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA) and the (ii) End Semester Examinations (ESE). The marks of the Continuous Assessment Tests are submitted to this office by all departments at the end of each semester. The consolidated marks of both the Continuous Assessment Tests and the Semester Examinations are announced every semester. Inquiries regarding Continuous Assessment are made with the respective Departments, and Semester Examinations with Controller’s Office.
Choice Based Credit System
The Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) gives freedom to the students to study papers of their choice.The CBCS, as recommended by the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University is being followed from the academic year 2008-2009 onwards.
- Varying credits are assigned to different courses depending on the instructional hours and the nature of the syllabus content.
- For completing a programme, a minimum of (140+5) credits for UG and (90+2) for PG should be earned by each candidate.
- UG students who are not able to study Tamil (Part I) can opt French / Hindi in I to IV Semesters.
